Helix Library

Helix is launching a cutting-edge Maker Lab in the library! Part of the Helix EDGE career and technical education program, the lab will support 3D printing, vinyl cutting, t-shirt production, Arduino, programming, robotics, and more. EDGE Lab workshops are open to all students and staff...sign up today and start creating!

Sada Abdullahi and Ivan Jimenez will represent Helix at the Regional Finals of Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation competition. The Regional Finals take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7th, at the central (downtown) branch of the San Diego Library. It's a free event, and anyone is welcome to attend. 

Dec. 13th - Join Women's Empowerment and GSA for an after-school event in the library, featuring U.S. Navy Chief Jennifer Pinero and U.S. Navy Senior Chief Matthew Rice, who'll share their experiences and perspectives working in the U.S. Military as a cisgender straight woman and a cisgender gay male. Everyone is welcome! 

Dec. 8th - "One Book, One Helix" held the 2nd annual "Open Mic for Human Rights" event in the Black Box Theater. In celebration of Human Rights Day (Dec 10th), students shared poetry, music, and readings.
